Ipomoea pes-caprae is a vine found on the sandy seashores throughout the tropics. It is a perennial salt-tolerant species growing on the upper parts of beaches, often covering large areas. The stem often reaches several metres in length; the leaves are large and two-lobed; the corollae is pink or purple. I. pes-caprae is one of the first species colonizing disturbed habitats in the tropics.
